Case Study – Australian commercial scale solid-liquid extraction of plant based insecticide
Task
To improve the throughput and extraction efficiency of the existing plant within the space limitations of the existing plant housing.
Solution
Reviewed availability of equipment for upgrade, found no existing off-the-shelf equipment and the “nearest fit” was expensive with long delivery time. Covey Consulting designed a special extractor for the purpose, managed construction and replaced existing units. Custom built for the existing plant layout, specifically designed to meet access and space limitations for installation and operation, including key fabrication on site. Incorporated novel features that overcame limitations with equipment used for this type of operation in the past.
Installed within time and budgetary constraints. Enabled plant to exceed specifications for efficiency and throughput.
